[ARCHIVED] Sign up for the Parker Citizen Police Academy

Parker area residents are invited to attend the Police Department’s free fall citizen academy program, which gives participants first-hand information about how Parker’s Police Department operates. Classes will focus on traffic enforcement, accident reconstruction, DUI (driving under the influence) enforcement, investigations, sex offender registrations, evidence collection/fingerprinting, SWAT (Special Weapons and Tactics), Taser, Krav Maga (a self defense system), drugs, background investigations, bicycle patrol, animal control, police training program, municipal court, victim advocates and the terrorism liaison program.

The classroom work, combined with field trips and tours, begins Thursday, Sept. 10 and requires a commitment of one night a week from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. for eight weeks. All classes will be held on Thursday nights, with one optional Saturday class at the shooting range.

Find the application for the program online at www.parkeronline.org or pick one up at the Parker Police Department, located at 19600 E. Parker Square Drive. All applicants are subject to a background check.
